Teacher Appreciation Week Ideas

Teachers hold a very important job in our communities: educating and setting up future generations for success. From preschool to high school, teachers dedicate their time to engaging and empowering students so they are able to excel in all aspects of life. At Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD), we are especially thankful for our teachers and staff members for their dedication to students and building a better community.

Teacher appreciation week starts on May 6, so here are some ways students and parents can express gratitude for the teachers in their lives:

  • Write a note of appreciation. Students and parents alike can take time to write down words of gratitude for teachers that have impacted them or their children. Include specific instances or qualities you are thankful for with the teacher in mind.
  • Give a small gift. Gifts are a simple way to show great appreciation for teachers. Does your teacher have a favorite restaurant, coffee shop, flower, or candy? Consider giving a gift card to these favorite places, a bouquet of flowers, and a chocolate bar. A simple gift shows you are thinking about them and are grateful for all they do.
  • Students, create a class project to show your appreciation. It can be as simple as a card or creating a video expressing your gratitude. For example, you could gather photos and memories from the school year and put together a presentation with messages of gratitude sprinkled in.
  • Volunteer. QCUSD is thankful to anyone who volunteers their time to help out students and teachers! Many of you live busy lives, and the time you share with us is invaluable. Volunteering is also a wonderful way to show appreciation, because it directly helps teachers.

Your words, gifts, and actions, no matter how small, mean the world to teachers. QCUSD appreciates all of our teachers and their contributions to the district. Have a great teacher appreciation week!
