Welcome to QCUSD’s Child Nutrition Department! We recognize the connection between good nutrition and student success. This is why our mission is to build healthier kids by providing nutritious meals at minimum cost to families. We prepare our menus with assistance from a registered dietitian and meet Arizona and the US National School Lunch program’s strict nutrition standards. Foods are hand selected and analyzed to ensure they meet the required calorie, fat, protein, sodium, and whole grains for our students. This translates into well balanced, healthy meals that provide recommended amounts of energy and nutrients needed for optimal child development and learning. Daily menus offer:
We take great pride in our Child Nutrition program and invite your children to benefit from the healthy choices we provide each day. Sincerely, ![]() Each child has an individual account and student ID with which to purchase meals. Accounts are set up with the cafeteria manager at your school. You can put money on the account using cash, personal check, or money order. You may also set up an account for your child online at EZ School Pay using a Visa or MasterCard. You may use the site, free of charge, to view your child's transactions and to set up low balance reminders. The only charge for using the site is when you credit money to the meal account through the online service. ![]() Your child may qualify for free or reduced breakfast and lunch. Applications are available at your child's school office, school cafeteria, or through the Food Services office. For your convenience, we’ve also included them for you on this page, as well as more helpful information regarding the program, in the sidebar at the right of this page. If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
![]() Did you know that breakfast increases your child’s brain power? Our bodies convert breakfast food into energy for use by our brain. When a child skips breakfast, they must rely on the energy from their last meal to fuel their brain. Without breakfast, kids typically have a gap of twelve hours or more between dinner and lunch. This can make kids tired and restless. A QCUSD school breakfast ensures your child starts the school day well-nourished and ready to learn. For $1.00 per day or less, your child receives whole grains, fruit, and protein. These are all the ingredients needed to fuel your child’s brain for optimal learning.
