Text Box: A Message from the Principal……
We just finished the 1st quarter and just back from our Fall Break. The students have been working hard and striving to reach their goals. We congratulate all of our students who received awards for Citizenship, Academic Excellence, Honor Roll, High Honors and Principal’s List. I know that you will continue to try your hardest in and out of the classroom.
With the fall season officially here, I want to remind parents and teachers that flu season is here as well. Watch for messages in our newsletters, emails and take home information sent with the kids that will provide updates and new guidelines about how together we can minimize our collective exposures.
Overall like most everyone else, we are fighting to keep our spending within our ever shrinking budget. We thank everyone who has helped us get the year started with their donations! But we will need your continued support to make it through the year. Please keep donating, recycling and doing what you can to help out as, all the staff, and especially the kids, Thank You!

Text Box: Health Office News

As every year, I perform Health Screenings on students in grades KG, 1st, and 2nd grades. These
screenings consist of hearing and vision. These are basic screenings and will not detect all problems.
Any student that did not pass, will most likely be screened a 2nd time. If they fail the 2nd time, a referral
will be sent home with the student. Please if you need more information or have any questions or
concerns, please call me at 480-987-5929. Students, who are new to the district this year, will also be
screened. We are seeing a few cases of strep throat here at school. Symptoms include bright red sore throat, fever, nausea, and listlessness. Please remember that all students who are diagnosed need to be on antibiotics for 24 hours and fever free before returning to school.
Please reinforce hand washing in the home. Please remind your children to always use soap when washing their hands. This will create good habits in school and will keep them healthy.
Thank you, Marla Santillana, School Nurse, RN BSN
