Principal’s Update:
To our Queen Creek community,
As you know we have already completed the first quarter of our 2009-2010 school year. Our students have been actively working on their academics as well as their extracurricular activities. I am very proud of their accomplishments. In the next newsletter, I will be including a list of our Honor Roll and Principal list students.
As we round the corner from summer to fall, the celebration of High School Homecoming becomes a part of every high school’s schedule. The week of October 19th is Queen Creek High School’s homecoming week. The students are eagerly awaiting such activities as the Pep Assembly, Football Game, and concluding with the dance. These activities provide a way for the school to build a community atmosphere; however, the teachers and staff will continue to work hard to keep our students focused on the main objective, academic achievement. Please remind your son/daughter that homecoming activities are a nice benefit to the high school experience, but it is important that they also stay current on their course work.
The week of October 26th, some of our Juniors and Seniors will be taking the AIMS test. Please note that on October 27 all non-testing students will have late start day. The late start students include: All Freshman, and the non-testing Juniors and Seniors; on this day all Sophomore students will be taking the AIMS Writing Pilot test
To maintain a consistent uninterrupted learning environment for all students, we make it our school policy to minimize classroom interruptions. Therefore, we are requesting that you not contact the office to relay messages to your son/daughter, unless it is an emergency. Please assist us with this school policy by making arrangements with your son/daughter prior to the school day.
Finally, as a reminder, encourage your son/daughter to stay focused on their academics, and to take care of themselves during the high stress time of the upcoming holidays, final exams and semester end. It is imperative that they finish the semester with the same enthusiasm as when they started.
The faculty, staff and administration at QCHS, would like to thank-you for the opportunity you have given us to assist your son/daughter with their educational endeavors.
Sincerely,
Dr. Angela Chomokos
